All parents of children in our school are automatically members of The Friends of West Dean CE Primary School (aka ‘The Friends).
The Friends organise events throughout the year – some as mainly social activities for parents and children and some to raise money for the school.
Funds raised are used to enhance the educational experience of the children and to provide the ‘extras’ which make our provision ‘outstanding’!
The Friends also run and opens the swimming pool after normal school hours during the week in term time (for last half term of the summer term) for fun swims, for a small charge.
There is a Friends Committee who meet regularly (approximately twice each term) to plan and co-ordinate events.
The Annual General Meeting is usually held in the Autumn Term. All parents are welcome to attend and become involved. We are always grateful for any offers of support, such as baking, helping with publicity and finance, as well as committee members who help organise events. New committee members are always needed, especially parents of the younger children.
